Yep. I'm going with BPC. At the end of the day, the old adage "There's more than one way to skin a cat" comes to mind. There are now, including the different tuning shops available, literally dozens of different combinations of ways to get more power out of these things. Fuel is and always has been, even back to the days of purely mechanical powertrains, the biggest factor. It's the DDE's job to manage that now.

TDI's point of there being simply too many factors to make an absolute call under controlled conditions is the real truth here, considering the multitude of variables involved with modern diesel engine controls. And under the circumstances, the piggyback is clearly working against "the system." Maybe not "severely," but who wants that?
