I've used a California Duster for 20 years, the last 5 or so on my current duster. Never had an issue if it is used LIGHTLY. Works wonderfully and I don't get any swirl marks. However, the paint must be cool to the touch and perfectly dry for it to work. Never use it in direct sunlight on a hot car, the resin in the fibers of the duster will transfer to the paint.
