I remember driving my friend's Bullitt, and even though it was inferior through the corners I had a shit-eating grin plastered across my face the entire time I was driving it. Cruising on a sunny afternoon, music playing, arm hanging on the window sill, hearing that V8 burble; this is how I got tagged with the Mustang fever.
I hear ya. My '68 GTO was no track monster, but I haven't driven anything recently that compares to the visceral experience it provided. I've never had that much fun, ever. Too bad it drank gas at a ridiculous rate, but the fun factor was immeasurable.
