Sounds like they did you a favour and are turning a blind eye.

Since the HPFP failure is a known defect to BMW, chances are your dealer is going to get paid for the warranty work and there will be no investigation by the folks at head office back in Germany.

Your fuel pump probably threw the codes necessary for replacement and that's all they need to justify the repair work to BMW.

Let's not forget they are getting paid for doing this, so they have some self-interest here.

But consider yourself lucky and get a code clearing tool like BT.

The tuner codes are grounds for instant warranty void and this has been explicity communicated by BMW in their service bulletins.

As long as the dealer didn't flag you, then you are not on the radar for future issues.

Might want to bring that up kind of innocently somewhere in your conversation and see what they say.
