I agree on the ball joints though, that's something I just personally won't go cheap on. Not price specifically, but I'd only stick with known brands with a documented reputation. Axles too. I've had bad luck with cheap made in China axles. That same ES300 has generic axles from Rock Auto and after a year they're clicking when turning. I put new Cardone axles in an old Accord and they were clicking right out of the box. I swapped them for rebuilt Honda axles and the clicking was gone.

Stock GKN brand axles in European cars are gold, they will only need boot changes in their life, never get rid of them. Yes CV boot replacement is a messy job but if you get aftermarket, they are all junk, just different shades of junk.
