1. You are correct. So directly opposite PIN18 is PIN9.
Connect +12v to 9 and - to 18 and the KOMBI has power. Just push the odometer reset button and it should turn on.
2. To take it off, just unclip those white clips round the edge. It's 'snaps' out of the housing. Don't worry, it won't break.
