iPhone integration alternative

Here is an alternative to the notorious Y-cable: Blackberry Stereo Gateway. It can be used with any phone supporting A2DP (stereo over Bluetooth) profile. It will also work with a PC/laptop outfitted with a BT adapter that supports A2DP Source.

It does require power-over-USB, so a charging adapter (or 6FL USB port) is needed for its operation. Once paired with the phone/PC/laptop and plugged in the AUX port, it does not require any interaction - just plug it in a USB adapter and forget about it. It will turn on automatically when the car is started.

I will use it extensively as I like to listen to streamed music (Pandora, Last.FM, etc.) and use a Navigon iPhone app. Using Navigon with the 6FL cable requires that iPod be running all the time (you can not stop/pause music) which is a bit of a nuisance sometimes.

The sound quality is excellent - same as over a wired connection to AUX.

The downside is that you can not control the music player from the steering wheel, but it is not that important as you can not control the stream anyway.

Hope this info could be useful to someone.
