On this road, oncoming cars can't see your beams and you can't see theirs because to the separation of the two directions.

On this same road I was driving, probably not even every 3rd, but every second car had their high beams on. So that seemed to be the norm.

If oncoming drivers can’t see your high beams, how were you able to see theirs?
