On the whole speed thing. I have noticed in the last 10 years outside of urban areas people are generally driving slower. I did a couple of cross country trips last year averaging between 85-110mph.
What I've noticed is you don't see any semis doing hammer down anymore hitting 95-100mph. Mostly trucks are moving slower than ever passing at a glacial speeds. The trucks really clog up interstates now. A lot of it is they time you between weigh stations and ticket you for speeding if you mov between them too quickly
Also I used to frequently find packs of cars crushing at 125+ and would stay with them across country. 10 years ago I always found people going that fast. Now most people think fast is 90, and going over 100 is breaking the sound barrier. I remember crushing in west Texas on 2 lane roads at 125 and never even passing a signle car.....
I suspect a lot of it is people are more complaint with the speed limits as they aren't as ridiculously low anymore as they were in the early 2000s.
I'm glad waze exits I think it helps restore balance to the drivers in the never ending war on driving.
