I went for the Bilstein B4 shocks, there are two vesions of the B4 though, one for the SE and one for the M Sport, make sure you get the M Sport version which is better suited to the Eibach Pro springs..... If you decide on Bilsteins that is.
Ride is firmer yes, but not too firm. I wouldn't wan any harder shocks personally. I think what I did is a good upgrade over the stock SE suspension.
