Thanks all - I just found online that tires can indeed take up to 200 miles to 'break in' as apparently there is some compound applied to them to eject them more easily from production molds, and that compounds can take a while to wear through.
As for the TPMS light, sounds like I'll just have to live with it like I live with the fog light lamp (previous owner replaced factory fog lamps with LED style..)
