But, the CEL is off for the first time since buying the car, which is awesome. Going for inspection later today!
Wanted to point out that my X5 was slightly different. My dipstick tube had a different shape slightly, and I really had to push it around to be able to reach the controller.

It's good to know you got this done on the X5 without removing the intake manifold. I've had a controller sitting in my garage for a couple months!
