Just adding my 2 cents as I used this very helpful video as well on my 335D. I had no problem getting the small round connector on or off, but struggled with the big square connector. Tip 1 - make sure you've really squeezed both unlock tabs. One made an audible click, one did not. Tip 2 - I put on a mechanics glove which increased my grip substantially making my 2nd attempt successful.
I did not reset any codes and the CEL went out on its own in a few days after replacing the module.
