OK... I read a technical paper by BMW engineers where it explained that the N54 does not cut boost during a quick upshift, it cuts ignition timing. So I'm not sure what the purpose of that feature is.

How do you avoid revving past redline on a no-lift-shift? Does the software just hold the engine right at redline until the clutch is engaged in the next gear?
