Correct, although I don't do it like that. I simply fill the hole and while the glue is still not cured completely I make a small hole with pick (skinnier than the bolts). When glue is cured the bolts will make new tread in it easily. I'm sorry but I must say that is little dumb to drill and put inserts for this repair. all of that is too complected for what is for and also what would you do when the inserts start spinning? You will need to go back and redo it with glue! I did this repair on two 335i this weekend alone.
