Reasonable customer service?

So back in October I bought a set of led bulbs for my angel eyes, and today one has failed. As the bulbs come with a 12 month warranty, I have contacted the vendor and explained the situation sending pictures of the car with a light out, a picture of the warning on the idrive, a screenshot of the PayPal transaction and a screenshot of the feedback the vendor left me. The vendor has come back to me apologising for what's happened, but they need me to send the faulty bulb back (and cover the cost myself) before they will send out a replacement. Now as we all know changing the angel eye bulbs on a E90 is a bit of a ball ache due to having to lift the car, remove the wheel and the arch liner. So I have replied to them saying that I will return the faulty bulb once I've recieved the new on as I don't want to do the job twice due to the amount of work involved.

Do you guys think I'm being unreasonable or is the vendor being unreasonable?
If it comes to it I'll just buy some from somewhere else and then send the old ones back and ask for a refund.
