There is an inline USB dongle but its included and goes behind the dash on the back of the unit. Yes you plug in the phone and it will automatically launch.
For you guys asking about N7 firmware updates, we are currently on 1.0.5.8, released around a month ago, fixed a bug with specific samsung phones and bluetooth. Check with your dealer if you need it.
The N7 Pro units are out now, have been shipping for a few months.
