Noob question; I've searched all over the forums and google but haven't been able to find an answer to this:
Replacing the Vanos solenoids is just a plug and play job right? There's no need to recode for the new solenoids? I plan on installing OEM replacements, not cheap off-brand.
I ask this because there's a guide on YouTube where some dude replaces his solenoids and then claims to show the process to "reprogram" his ECU to work with the new solenoids. Problematically, he unknowingly pulls up a valvetronic limit position learn on ISTA/D in his search for Vanos, completes it, then says 'all done,' seemingly with no engine problems.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
