E92 Coupe seat belt arm replacement
Just want to post that (as with many of you) I have seat belt arms that don't hold the belt.
I tried the starch method - it lasted about 3 times, so I chose to replace the end part.
It was easy to do and took me about 5 mins. Now the arm hands the belt to me every time.
Point to note: Many folk have posted that the L shaped metal part was broken causing the spring to come lose. My L shaped part was intact but was bent and looks like it was about to fail. I think this "bentness" (is that a word?) was enough to cause the arm to flop a little on extension and then the belt just fell off.
Now I have the old part in my hand I know how to fix the right hand side without shelling out $75 for a another new part. There are other posts here that show you how to remove the spring and fix the metal bracket rigidly . I plan to that for the passenger side next.
