I had the light too.
The container was empty!
Called the dealer and they said it was "normal" due to evaporation but asked to bring it in to check.
They recommended against anything other than BMW coolant.
Or just pour water.
I took it in and they top it off. Had no time to leave it so they just asked to keep an eye on it and bring it back if the light comes back on.
