Yeah I can see where you are coming from. I'm sure in 1989 when the rules were written it was to make sure no bulb was behind a red housing that when turned on could produce red light. Of course they have no idea these can change colour.
I know really the best policy is to be friendly and bring them over to your side but he was being a p**k.
