I'm pulling my intake manifold off tonight and I'm going to be cleaning my intake ports manually. I'm going to rotate the crank to close each cylinders valves and let some solvent soak in the valves for an hour or so. Then I'll be using a really fine brush or a Dremel with brush on it to scrub the valves and remove all the carbon.

Then I will be vacuuming out all the junk.

It's going to be time-consuming I would expect probably about six hour job but it's definitely worth it.
