TPMS metal valve stem leak

Hi guys,
I've not had my 335i for more than a few weeks and I noted that the OSR tyre keeps triggering TPMS.
I dunked the wheel in a bath of water, don't tell SWMBO, and there are bubbles coming up from between the metal stem and the outer nut that fixes it to the wheel.
Anyone else have this problem?
I am wondering whether to take it to a tyre fitter and get the metal valve stem resealed or replaced or if I should just do away with TMPS and fit normal rubber stemmed valves in their place if possible. Wheels are 19" style 230.
I am guessing that because that tyre has often deflated, and with a 30 profile, the inner part of the valve may have been knocked when the previous owner run with the tyre flat (non-RFT's are fitted) breaking the seal on the valve stem to the wheel so perhaps it is just bad luck and it will be fine once cured.
Any thoughts?
