The inner tie rod of the 335i has different part number than the M3 one so no idea if you can fit the M3 rack
the plastic tab is part of a black dust cover on the rack axle. you cut only the tab from the cover.
the cover itself has an arrow on the edge, you have to line it up to a mark in the aluminium if the rack, then it is centred.
centre the steering wheel and then insert the steering column in the rack.
Verify if the arrow is still on the mark on the rack and that the steering wheel is centred...
