thank you for raising this issue, and thanks to the contributors, too. i was unaware of this until you noted it.
my car's production was week 10 (wk of mar 5), regensberg, 328i, with 6FL.
the special cable was not included when car arrived at dealership. so i asked for it, and it was supplied by dealer within two days. however, no case.
