Worn Bolster - Leather Dye Repair

The driver side bolster on my '07 E93 is showing signs of wear (see pictures). I went deep in the forum and pulled up two ancient threads on fixes:

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...&highlight=dye

and

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...&highlight=dye

They detailed user experience with Leatherique and Swissvax which are water based leather dyes. I'm prepared to take the car to a specialty shop if need be, but would like to try a DIY solution first, expecialy if its a few hundred bucks less expensive. My question is whether or not these two are still the consensus picks for reparing leather with this sort of wear, or if there is something newer, better. FWIW, the rest of my vehicle's leather is nearly flawless.
