Yes, this is a very well known issues with bmw. My dealer described it as door seal popping sound. At first I thought it was loose electrical wire inside the door panel bouncing around as I hit bumps in the road. But once they applied that stuff on the seal, the popping sound went away. This was on my e46 bmw. I do not have this issue on my e90. Maybe they already applied that stuff on the seal already.
