I don't have creaks but my Logic 7 did not turn on several times before. I took it in and they said they upgraded the software. Someone on this board also mentioned that leaving a CD in the player will also solve the problem. I did that as well and haven't had an issue since.

Mine (my disposed e90) stopped working again last week, but a CD was already loaded, it froze on the CD display.
