I haven't tried it yet because most every call I make is either in my Top 8 or I just say "Dial Number" and then say the number. The iDrive voice recognition for numbers works incredibly well.
For dial by name, the iDrive has this function, not the phone, right? I don't think my phone has this function without the car.
