There have been many revisions to the VRSF FMIC line up over the years.

The old 5" was outperformed by the old 7". The new 5" HD was then as good or near as good as the old 7".

Now the 5"HD 7" (new core) and 7"HD exist and they are all improved over their predecessors.

If you are against cutting 5" HD.
If you live in hotter climate at least 7"
If you want the utmost in performance and heat soak resistance 7"HD

These can also be classified by power / stages

Stage 1 5"
Stage 2 7"
Stage 2+ 7"HD

It's not an exact science though. HP goals, climate, how the car is driven and goals of what are to be expected can persuade the choices differently.

All 3 are a significant upgrade over stock.

If you have the means and budget, I'd recommend the 7" HD to everyone. It's a quality core and performer with no compromises.
