Plenty of N54's seize up from rod bearing failure too. But there are always different variables and in no way is it a real problem as it's still a very small number. No one knows if there is even a broad issue on the N55 as most of the failures occur on modified cars and keep in mind that only a small fraction of owners use forums and even then people who have no problems at all don't post up to say everything is fine. Lot's of variables.
