The 1b DYI thread you linked to is only for cars with the old CIC navi system. CIC systems were used in X1 E84 up to 2015.

The DYI will not work for X1 2019 model which has a newer iDrive. Use iDrive to find out what maps you have, and then search on how to update those maps.
