With Italians being Catholic and all (as am I), I can understand why they arent open late on the 24th...but there has to be a couple of spots open to 11 or so...anyone have an opinion? Ive already bumbed through Zagat and Google, but the returns are absurd and I cant get any decent freakin review to make it worth checking out....

I would rather not have to, but I've been to Peter Lugers and Ruth's Chris, but it just doesnt seem to fit the bill for the occaision...but if push comes to shove I can always fall back on one or the other.
Matt, its not that easy to find a romantic place in the city since everyone is always in such a hurry and it is a fast paced enviroment. With that said, I would recommend two places. One in the city, one near the city.

In the city, go to Swizz (www.1291swizz.com). I truly love it there, its is Swiss food and the cuisine is AMAZING to say the least. There is a huge wine cellar and the cheese fondue and wiener schnitzel are to die for. I would definetly recommend this place above all, besides it is VERY romantic.

Outside of the city, go to Le Jardin (www.lejardinnj.com) in Edgewater, NJ. The food is great and the atmosphere is awesome too. Also there are amazing views of the city and the hudson river.

Hope this helps man, btw don't forget your party hat for later that night
