Its a pretty easy replacement.

1)jack car up
2)secure on jackstands
3)take off wheel
4)undo thrust arm bolt that attaches it to subframe
5)remove 24mm nut on balljoint at the steering knuckle that holds thrust arm to steering knuckle
6)use ball joint extractor to get thrust arm off of balljoint at the steering knuckle

Then re-install is the reverse of install, except you need to put a jack under the thrust arm and jack it up to level, THEN torque the bolt holding it to the subframe. Make sure to use new bolts on the suspension.

edit-wrote that for an xi. no ball joint puller is needed for a RWD car. Use a deadblow on the end of the balljoint shank to pop it out.
