My college had slightly different math for the different engineering majors, ME and EE were together in Calc 1-3 and differential equations, whereas Environmental, civil, construction, biomedical took an easier combined calc 2-3 class then an easier differential equations class. They had 3 semesters of math, whereas the ME and EE had 4.

I actually struggled in calc 1 since I have never taken calc before, and the professor taught it like everyone had done calc before. I improved all the way up to an A by calc 3 though. Office hours are definitely your friend-to whoever posted about switching.
