I just bought myself an Alpine S920HD after getting tired of the boring stock head unit. Before I just had an aux input and no other features. Now I have nav, hd radio, bluetooth, and much more. I am going to add sirius and a rear view camera next.
IMO its not worth it to mess around with the stock unit when it is cheaper to just replace it with something much better.
