Those guys get paid more than servers...
As for a mechanic, I know plenty about cars, and especially my car to know if they are BSing or its an actual problem. If they went above and beyond to diagnose other issues, might give them a tip or a bottle or something. But since im typically my own mechanic, I always tip myself.
