No offense, but you are just ONE of MANY who don't realize what the best reference is for Procedures, Component Locations, etc.: TIS, NOT random videos that don't even explain WHAT model, engine, country of sale, etc. is being worked on.
Here is the TIS procedure for YOUR 323i:

That TIS Procedure shows it located to the LEFT or Driver's side of the rear of the transmission (note the drive shaft ;-)
Please let us know if that Procedure is NOT correct for your vehicle. All of the US 6-cyl cars have NO external, inline, fuel filter AFAIK.
