The sizes posted are recommended because they do not offset the speedometer.
If you were to lower the car aggressively, it seems that rolling the fenders would be the least of your concerns. On stock height my front wheels are only a few millimeters away from gouging out the fender lining.
My rear wheels are fine tho. I won't be lowering the rear anyway, it already sits pretty low.
