I believe if you do one other pin on the multifunction connector going into the clockspring; then each paddle will only do one thing, either shifts up or down regardless if you push or pull.
Right now for me; when I pull on the right; it shifts up, and then I push on the right it shifts down. And the reverse for left.
I still don't know why I can't shift down while driving, but I can if I'm at stand still in D.
Could it be my GM transmission? I doubt, might connect to the other pin and see what happens.
