DIY: Custom Start button
Step 1
: Take off the Aluminum-colored trim (it clips off with a little force)
Step 2
: Remove Start/Stop button cover. If you can see closely there's 4 clips you have to delicately take off in order to remove it
As the picture says, when doing this, remember that the represented/circled tab is the top part.
This pic is a test of function to show you what and where the LED is
This is a pic of the Start/Stop button with the white plastic layer. As you can see it's very dull.
This is a pic of the Start/Stop button without the white plastic layer. As you can see MUCH brighter
Step 3
: Shave down the Start/Stop button cover. I wet sanded with 600 grit to make sure i had a nice even tone.
Step 4
: Apply your vinyl. You may or may not use a heat gun depending on the type of vinyl. It makes things easier to stretch if you do.
As i mentioned in the beginning of the DIY, this is a 3-piece vinyl:
Rebuild your button! (As you can see here, i also applied a vinyl to my aluminum portion)
Step 5
: Reinsert your custom button on your dash and you're done!
