I passed when I was 17 and couldn't afford insurance until I waswas 21 and it dropped below the grand mark, just 4 years of buses and taxis lol. Now 23 and a 320D is still around 800 quid fully comp!

As Mike said, just mess round and get a few quotes with different details to see what gets it lower. Putting my mum on as a named driver (woman in her 50s with 9+ ncb) pretty much halves my quote! Other things like saying it was parked on the road over night rather than on the drive took 50 or so off (i thought it'd be the other way!?). Basically mess round in a price comparison site and see what gets it low.
