AT&T's fiber run has nothing to do with WiFi.
Things that affect WiFi performance: distance, objects (materials between the access point and the client), interference, loading of the access point, to name some off the top of my head.
No one can provide any suggestions until you give more specifics about your environment such as how far is the wireless router from your master bedroom, how many walls are in between and what are the walls made of, how many other wireless networks are around you, etc.
