Cyba scoop install - e90 DIY

Alright guys and gals, I could not find a DIY but did find several people asking for one, so here is my first attempt at making a DIY.

This is pretty straight forward and easy to do. It took me about 15 minutes in the 100 degree Houston weather.

Here is how my e90 looks with the hood open and before the removal of any torx screws or panels.

First, I started by removing these two torx screws. You will need a Torx 25 to remove them. This will give you the ability to remove the grills.

Next, you need to remove the air channeler (don't know the exact name, but that is what I am calling it)

To do this, you need to remove the pin by grabbing the pin with a set of pliers and pulling straight upward. Then using a flat head screwdriver, get under the pin holder and pry it up and remove it.

Use will also need to remove the torx screw using a Torx15.

Do this on both sides of the air channeler and then lift the air channeler out of the way.

Line up the holes for the push pin holder and push pin on the outer side of the scoop and the Torx 25 screw on the inner side.

Place the air channeler back in its original position and replace the push pin and the torx screw, while holding the scoop in place thru the grille hole. Make sure the push pin and the torx screw seat thru the holes on the scoop and tighten. Do this on both sides. The scoop should hold in place like this.
