You got that right. A friend had a Gremlin that he modded into a very fast, agile and good looking car. The AMX was cool too. For sure. Back in those days we were just happy to have a car to drive!
My second car was a '68 Javelin so I have an affection for AMC. They made some great cars. My '68 was the SST with a 290. I loved that car.
Here is a photo of my girlfriend at the time. The car is long gone but I married the girl.
