My Stepfather was a radar operator in the Air Force, stationed in Turkey, when the SR71 was still top secret. Their commander came through the radar room one day and told everyone they were going to see an "anomaly" on their screens, and just ignore it. It was, what he thinks, was an SR71 doing some sort of speed test. Couple blips on the screen and it was gone. Like nothing he had ever seen before. Pretty cool! Still amazes me that it was designed and constructed in a pre-computer era.
