Surprised by the negativity but I agree on some aspects, I am 17 and I have owned a 2009 n54 for 6 months now. And yes I didn't pay for it in full but I did pay for 3,000 of it which was around 1/3 for it. I work around 16 plus hours a week and I am going to say it is expensive, I sometimes had to take a paycheck and directly put it into repairs for my car. Another aspect would be the cost of gasoline, do you have a far commute? Do you have money for maybe a fill up every week or every 5-6 days? My first car for around a year (some say you can not drive till 16 but in my state, you start at 15 1/2) with my dad's old ford escape which was an interesting car. As others have mentioned maybe it is best not to start with the 335i because it is very expensive to maintain and fast. My opinion is to go for it if you work and are willing to put your own expenses into the car, but if this is paid for only by your dad, do him a favor and buy something older and more reliable.
