If it's a GM transmission than you shouldn't change it I'm not sure about the Zf ones. I asked the Foreman at my local BMW dealer and he said a fluid change could kill the transmission because it's gotten used to the old fluid.
That is terrible advice, especially since GM (the manufacturer of the transmission) states to service it every 60k.
