little update on my problem....i do have the lock icon all the time but it seems that my battery is dead (car is almost 6 yrs old and I drive short distance) so I'm going to jump start later today or tomorrow to see if it'll work.
I heard that if your battery is low, there isnt enough voltage to move the lock mechinism.

a friend of mine just have this problem as we speak. he had this wheel lock icon and dealer said the column mechanish has to be replaced. and he took it to the dealer coz his car wont start. he has an '06 e90. feel bad for him coz he just bought this used a month ago and he have to pay now $1000 and after he did some research here he found out its common problem for e90. now my question is i own a '07 MT e90. ive read some here and said that MT e90 cars dont have steering lock. is this true or i might have this problem in the future also?
