Don't think that will be anytime soon, I think it's probably best to stick to the twins, I assume everything inside there is designed to mould around the twins and will be a pain in the ass to rewire and relocate stuff for the single turbo. + with a single bigger turbo there will be more lag, two with smaller turbines will offer less lag, if you really do go for a big turbo you may aswell have a twin sequential setup while the mechanics at it lol.
I thought the same until I saw this vid:



Basically a large twinscroll single will offer better drivability than twins, simply because you can get better singles that are are based on the latest technology.

Problem with a top mount single on an n54 is that packaging is a huge issue with our shitty tight engine bay.
